Don’t Delay the Delight
Subtitle: Time is fleeting—choose today to delight in His presence and walk in His wisdom.
Bible Verse
Psalm 90:12 (NIV)
“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
Devotional Reflection
Life passes in a blink. We chase goals, get caught in routines, and sometimes forget the most vital pursuit: delighting in the One who delights in us. Psalm 90:12 is a gentle, urgent nudge—it reminds us that our days are limited, and if we don’t intentionally turn our hearts toward God, we may miss the beauty of living fully in Him.
Delighting in God isn’t reserved for a perfect season—it’s a choice we make now, even in weariness or struggle. Some are waiting to feel “ready.” Others drift through spiritual dryness, wondering how to get back. But the answer is simpler than we think:
👉 Come as you are. Decide to trust Him today.
God is not distant. His love is reaching for you—even now. Whether you’re exploring faith for the first time or longing to revive a tired spirit, He invites you to walk in His presence and experience delight that won’t fade.
Application
1. Start with One Verse: Begin your morning with Psalm 90:12. Read it slowly, and ask God to teach you how to live wisely.
2. Heart Check: Ask yourself, “Where am I delaying joy in God? What’s holding me back?” Write it down and surrender it in prayer.
3. Presence Practice: Take 3-minute pauses throughout your day to thank Him for one gift and speak His name aloud.
4. Delight Challenge: Choose one area where you’ve delayed spiritual growth (prayer, Scripture, worship). Recommit today with one small step.
5. Invite Someone In: Share this verse with a friend and ask how they delight in God—grow together.
Prayer
Lord, teach me to number my days and apply my heart to Your wisdom. Help me not to delay the joy of Your presence or the peace that comes from knowing You. Give me a heart that seeks You daily, a soul that delights in Your truth, and eyes that see the beauty of living fully in You. Let today be the start of deeper joy and unshaken devotion. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
