From Separation to Access – The Gift of His Presence

📖 “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” – Ephesians 2:13

There was a time when access to God’s presence was limited—reserved for the high priest, once a year, behind a thick veil in the temple. The presence of God was holy, powerful, and distant. But everything changed at the cross.

When Jesus gave His life, the veil was torn from top to bottom (Matthew 27:51), not by human hands, but by divine invitation. What was once separated by sin is now restored by grace. We are no longer outsiders peeking in—we are sons and daughters welcomed into the very heart of God.

This is the gift of His presence: not a fleeting moment, not a sacred place we must travel to, but a daily, moment-by-moment reality. Through Christ, we have full access to the Father—His peace, His wisdom, His comfort, His delight.

And yet, how often do we live as if the veil is still there? Rushing through devotions, feeling unworthy to draw near, or believing His presence is reserved for “more spiritual” people?

This July, as we reflect on freedom and unity, let’s remember the greatest freedom of all: the freedom to abide. To sit with Him. To walk with Him. To be fully known and fully loved in His presence.

🧎‍♀️ Reflection:

Are there areas in your life where you still feel “separated” from God? What would it look like to live today as someone who has full access to His presence?

🙏 Prayer:

Father, thank You for tearing the veil. Thank You for making a way through Jesus so I can come boldly into Your presence. Help me not to take this gift for granted. Teach me to abide, to slow down, and to delight in You as You delight in me. Unite my heart with Yours, and let Your presence be my home. Amen.
