The Child Who Changes Everything

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given… and he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” -Isaiah 9:6–7

Devotional

Centuries before the manger, Isaiah spoke of a child who would change the world. Not just any child, but the Son given to us, the gift of God’s love wrapped in humanity.

Each name in this prophecy reveals who Jesus is for us today:

• Wonderful Counselor - He understands our struggles and guides us with wisdom beyond measure.

• Mighty God - He is strong enough to save, powerful enough to conquer sin and death.

• Everlasting Father - His care is constant, His love unending, His presence secure.

• Prince of Peace - He brings wholeness where there is brokenness, calm where there is chaos, and reconciliation where there is division.

This child is not just a figure of history, He is the living Savior who reigns forever. His kingdom is marked by justice, righteousness, and peace that will never end.

At Christmas, we celebrate more than a birth. We celebrate the arrival of God’s promises fulfilled, the dawn of hope, and the reign of a King whose love will never fail.

Lord Jesus, thank You for coming as the promised child, the Son given to us.

Be our Counselor when we need wisdom, our Mighty God when we feel weak, our Everlasting Father when we long for care, and our Prince of Peace when life feels unsettled.

May Your reign of justice and love be evident in our lives today.
